Meet Our FAM
Franklin Area Moms (FAM) is a group for parents, caregivers, and their children in Franklin, Massachusetts and the surrounding towns. Our mission is to create a supportive network for moms* and their kids while promoting a view of tolerance, acceptance, inclusion, and diversity in the community.
FAM provides a diverse catalog of programs and events to enrich the lives of our children and parents. These offerings include everything from playgroups and playdates to charitable work. We also provide resources and information on our website to help parents identify additional opportunities for themselves and their kids to learn and play in the community.
*Please note that although we use the term “mom,” we invite all parents and caregivers of children in or around Franklin, MA to join us.

We want a different future for our kids, and for our country, and have committed ourselves to challenging the status quo, educating ourselves the ways in which systemic racism has impacted and continues to impact our fellow citizens of color. We acknowledge the harmful impact of implicit bias and are committed to challenging our biases, learning and growing to be better allies in anti-racist work, while continuing that work in our role as parents.

Every child deserves to know that they are loved for who they are, and every parent deserves to feel supported, no matter who they love. We firmly believe in equal rights for our neighbors in the LGBTQIA+ community.
We believe that everyone deserves to be welcomed, treated with dignity, and accepted for who they are, no matter who they love, where they come from, what they believe.
Your unique life story is important. It has shaped you as a person, as a parent, as a member of your community. Your voice and your experience are valuable.

FAM is committed to providing access to resources that reflect the beautiful diversity of the world. From the accessibility of local playgrounds to books that celebrate diversity. Children’s literature is a key tool that serves as both a mirror to reflect a child’s own experience, or as a window, through which to understand the experiences of others.
